Zentangle Card
August 29th, 2011 @ 5:39 pmI have a friend I’ve been meaning to write for over a month now. *sigh* I hate when time flies by so quickly and I haven’t done something I so desperately wanted to do. I definitely have priority issues (AKA…spending too much time on the internet).
I made this card last night. I tried a few new techniques, although I don’t think I quite perfected them. I love everything about this card except for the bottom right triangle part. It just doesn’t flow well with the rest. The card also appears to be upside down (which it’s not). Anyway, it’s a creation, something I haven’t done in a while and I wanted to share it with you all.

very cool! I’ve done zentangle but mine aren’t nearly as complex! Did you make the polka dots?

Andrea – you’re too kind
Aunt Judie – I did do the polka dots myself. I’m sure there’s an easier way, but I used a ruler and evenly (as best I could) spaced out everything. It was a pain, but I do like the look (so worth it).

I love the bottom right part, Jan! It might even be my favorite part! Thanks for sharing it.

Sooooo awesome! I would totally screw something up if I tried to do that!
Hahahaha! I love it!

That’s the genius of Zentangle’s. You can’t screw it up. It’s just doodles. If you make a mistake, you just take a different direction with your design and work it in. Zentangle’s are random doodles. That’s it.

wow….I ended 2 of my letters with zentangles. I think they came out ok. I think need to be more free form and stop thinking about the result.
I love that your card is not centered and your doodles bring your eye around.
