Valentine Creations
February 4th, 2011 @ 12:45 amTomorrow, I am throwing a small Valentine’s Day Party at my house for seven of Brody’s friends. We’re involved in an every other Friday playgroup and this just happens to be the Friday that I host, so I decided to make it a Valentine’s party. Brody has a shirt to wear on Valentine’s Day, so I figured this would give him a chance to get more use out of it.
I found this super easy tutorial for decorating a mailbox. This mailbox can be found in the dollar bins at Target. I will say that they’re pretty small. I thought they would be much bigger than they are. They are still cute and would still fit most Valentine’s that kids hand out. Target had a few colors on hand too (white, red, and pink). The tutorial is called, Target Mailbox Tutorial. Check it out if you’re interested in making one for yourself.
I also made Brody’s Valentine’s cards to hand out to his friends. Boogie Wipes are a big thing here, so I found the “knock, knock” joke about the sneeze (see photo above to see the knock knock joke) and thought a Boogie Wipe would be perfect to go with it. Cheesy, but somewhat creative, right? LOL!
I also made some labels for the water bottles (just to dress them up a bit). I found the “saying” online and just resized it to fit the water bottle label. Some of it is printed in light pink and the flash on my phone made it “white out” so it looks like there are some blank lines. The lines that are missing say “February 14th” and “Be Mine, Be Mine”.
I have so much fun being creative and just wish I would take more time to do so. I still have Brody’s onesie quilt that hasn’t moved an inch since I last took a photo of it and blogged about it. *sigh*

Thanks! Had we not been having a party here, I wouldn’t have taken time to do any of it (even though small projects). There were so many other things I saw that I wanted to make, but had to do the bare minimum. I had fun and that’s all that matters.

U are so creative that I can no longer say you get it from me as I cannot match any of this that you do.
I still say you should make at least a booklet out of it.

I think you and I have the same creativity, just on different things. I can’t knit or crochet at all, but am good with a piece of paper and some adhesive. LOL!

Hi Jan!
I saw your comment over at eighteen25 about resizing the subway art…and I just can’t figure out how to resize! I want mine to be 5×7…I can’t believe I can’t figure it out! Your water bottles turned out really cute!

Kerri – I’m emailing you both of the colors for the Subway Tile Art and they are sized to 5×7 for you. If you want another size, just let me know.
