Wrapped Gift

Brody is invited to yet another birthday party.  I swear all of his friends are girls.  *sigh* :)

Most of the same people are invited to these birthday parties, so I’m trying to be unique with my wrapping for them all.  I purchased brown wrapping paper from The Container Store (my new favorite store that just opened in Raleigh a couple of months ago).  This wrapping paper is so versatile!  Last week we went to another girl’s birthday party and I used the brown wrapping paper and some wide pink and brown ribbon.  I didn’t think to get any pictures of that wrapped gift, but I think it turned out nice.

This time, I decided to go with a design that I saw on a recent blog post using a snowflake.   I don’t think mine turned out near as nice and the snowflake would probably look nicer on my white wrapping paper instead of the brown, but oh well.

I also used something that Jason just sent me the link too (he knew I’d like the idea and I love that he thinks of me).  I thought it was cute to personalize the gift and put the little girl’s name on it.  Had the snowflake been smaller, I would have preferred to put the name on the front of the package, versus the top, but I wasn’t redoing my snowflake (lazy, I know).

  1. Oh my gosh, Jan! I am loving that store! I went a week or so ago and was flipping out because I was so excited! The employees actually said, “yep, this is your first time! you’ve got the look!” It was pretty funny. I’d say we should go together, but I think the world might implode if we were both there at the same time! :-D LOL

  2. I know…they’d probably ban us for being so loud running around the store going EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the whole time (squealing with excitement). :)

  3. Hahahahaha! You have that right, my friend! I can just see us running around with our arms thrown wide, running around in circles, like Will Ferrell does in Elf when he gets excited. Hahaha! Yeah, we should probably not scare the employees at the same time…

  4. Smart thinking. I guess we’ll have to console with each other before we go to make sure we’re not ever there at the same time. LOL!

  5. Okay….you two are scaring me. I’m actually glad that I don’t live nearby because I’d have to pretend NOT to know you!

  7. I agree with your mom as I would be just overwhelmed if I saw many, many ideas that I would want to incorporate, or at least try out, and then realize that I don’t give gifts any more, just $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ x $100.

I may have lost count but that was supposed to be 42 $s.

  8. I’m finding that we have many little friends who have invited us to their parties. You can’t go to a party without a gift, so you have to be creative with your budget. Since the gift is small, I want to have the package be part of the gift (my time spent with the wrapping to make it look beautiful). It’s a fun way for me to try new things and be creative. :)
