Toilet Paper Origami

Yep, you read correctly, “Toilet Paper Origami”.  Go ahead, laugh. :)

I remember going to my friends house years ago and when I used her bathroom, she had the toilet paper folded into a point at the end.  Very fancy!  I loved it and thought it was sweet she would take time to do that for me.  Now whenever we have people visiting us, I take time to fold the toilet paper into a point.

Recently, I came across a blog post about toilet paper origami and it intrigued me.  There’s even a book out there on this subject.  I found a few tutorials online about toilet paper origami, so went to a couple of our bathrooms to try them out.  How fun!  I love stuff like this!  It’s like going to a hotel and they have their towels folded into a dog or something.

Thought I’d share my new silly find.

  1. HAHA ..and I thought my mom and I were the only ones!

Rob thinks I am crazy when I go around the house (when we have guests coming) folding the toilet paper.

I am going to Google tutorials too, maybe I can surprise my mom when they come in May.

    PS
I drove by this past weekend your yard looks wonderful (unlike most others over there in my old neck of the woods)

  2. I love our yard this time of year with all of the fresh blooms and color. I just wish the grass looked better (something we’re working on). LOL that you fold the toilet paper too. I hope you can find some new designs to make to surprise your Mom for her visit. :)

  4. You totally crack me up! They literally took seconds to make, so using them isn’t a problem. I just hope I don’t get all OCD and have to make something after going to the bathroom every time (that would drive Jason nuts). :)

  5. Ha Ha! During college Jason and Aaron had a discussion about which way toilet paper should go on the role. I remember Jason had strong opinions on the subject.

  6. Amy, that’s hilarious! When we first got married, we decided that whoever changed the roll got to put the toilet paper on the way they wanted. I prefer under and he prefers over (which has to be if you’re creating toilet paper origami, so I’m not a fan of that part). :)

  9. Jan you crack me up! I love it, but yes, it would drive Chris bonkers if I did this every time he or I left the bathroom! Haha! I can’t wait to see what else you make with toilet paper.

  10. okay, Amy, clearly the only logical way is for the toilet paper end to roll towards you, so you can see the end. otherwise the end could be hidden behind the roll. :)

  11. Who knew there could be so much discussion on toilet paper alone. LOL! I’m all about under (I guess it’s just the way I grew up). Over gets me confused at night (grabbing in the wrong place). :)

  12. …and I hope everyone gets the subtle sarcasm – that wasn’t meant to be serious!

  13. Oh, you know you were being serious. You have a “stand” for which way toilet paper goes. Just admit it. LOL!

  14. @Amy: Hmm…I certainly don’t recall that discussion w/ Aaron, but it doesn’t surprise me that we would have analyzed something as important as toilet paper. College is usually the first time you have to actually buy your first roll in life.

As long as it’s soft and stays in one piece, I’m good.
