My Grandma With Her Quilt

My parents took the quilt to my Grandma yesterday.  They kept it in the box I shipped it in so my Grandma would be the first person to see it.

My Dad took a video of her opening it, which I’ll have to wait and see when they visit to see the baby for the first time.  My Mom took photos of my Grandma with the quilt.  I don’t have a photo of her reaction, but have a great one of her holding the quilt, which I love!  If you look at the table to the left, there is a heart and then a picture of my Grandpa underneath it.  How fitting.

My Mom said that my Grandma looked through the ties in the quilt and kept saying that he wore that tie to match such-and-such outfit that she wore.  What great memories!  I love that she can have something to display with so many memories and be able to share that with others.  I’m so glad she likes it!

  1. You can’t begin to imagine how happy Grandma was to see this very special quilt!! She kept saying, “Oh my…Jan went to so much work.” She loves it when visitors admire the quilt and she gets to tell about each tie memory. Because it’s so beautiful, she hopes to hang it on the wall for all to see and admire!

  2. Thanks Mom! Those are great memories to know about. I love that she loved the quilt. She even told me that the ties that Grandpa wore for their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries were in that quilt. I had no clue I had something that valuable in my possession. :)

    You did an AWESOME job on Gpa’s tie quilt!! It is so beautiful!! Grandma loves it and so do I!! She points out the different ties that he wore and when he wore them. She can tell you stories after stories on these ties. It is so nice for you to make this for her!! Yes, Grandma was so amazed and happy to see how much work and time you spent on this!! It is absolutly GORGEOUS!! Outstanding job, JAN!!
