Finished With Sandwiching The Quilt

Yesterday, I had plans with my friend Susan (who taught me how to quilt) to work on our quilts (we’re both making one).  I had hoped to get 1/4 of the way through free-motion quilting this quilt, but surprisingly got completely done.  I have no clue how because it took me four days to free-motion quilt my baby quilt.  I am very pleased with how it turned out.  I was even able to sew the binding strips together and get them ironed and ready to go.  All that’s left are the finishing touches (binding it all, which will take a few days and rest in between, then washing it).  I can’t wait!  Stay tuned for the final pics.

  2. I can’t wait to see what fabrics you use on your daughters twin sized quilt. I’m sure you’ll blog about it. Have you picked a pattern yet?

  4. I’ve got to admit. This is only my second time doing free-motion quilting. I absolutely hated doing it on my first quilt. It took forever and killed my shoulders (trying to keep the “foot” where I wanted it to go). This time went by SO fast and didn’t hurt my shoulders at all. I love the look of it and will definitely do it from now on. I’m sold! :)

  5. I have not picked a pattern. All the quilts I have ever made (2 queen, 2 full and 3 or 4 crib size) have all been simple square patch work style quilts. I should start looking at different patterns. I actually have a huge book somewhere of quilt patterns..
