Burp Cloths

Ok…you knew these were coming.  I used some of the fabrics left over from the baby quilt I made and added them to some burp cloths (or cloth diapers, whatever you want to call them).  This was the simplest thing I think I’ve ever made.

I first saw these on Etsy, then Googled to search for a tutorial.  I found a great (and easy) tutorial from Chickpea Sewing Studio.  It took maybe 5 minutes to make each one (which includes ironing seams on the fabric so it’s the right size to sew onto the burp cloth).

I only wish I would have thought of these first.  I could be making some big bucks on Etsy.  Not sure if there is a market for another burp cloth maker.

  1. LOVE the burp cloths, Jan …. AND the fact they match the quilt. Only YOU would think of THAT! I wish you weren’t going to be so busy in the coming months as a co-worker just found out her son & DIL are having her first grandchild … a girl! She’s retiring so she can help take care of the baby (lucky!). Despite these still being sold on Etsy, I think there’s still a market for them. I LOVE these that you’ve made. You should still make them with ALL your leftover materials. If you do, let me know if you list them on Etsy and I’ll take a peek.

  2. The burp cloths are SO easy to make. I have some pink fabric on hand (leftover from making my niece’s baby quilt). I’d be happy to make you some burp cloths to pass on to your co-worker. :)
