Houston…We’ve Reached The Halfway Point
June 16th, 2009 @ 11:05 am
Today marks 20 weeks and the halfway point for me. Yay! The baby is the size of a cantaloupe (no wonder my back is hurting more). At our ultrasound this past week, the doctor said he weighed just over 11oz., so he’s a bit heavier than the average (hope that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a big baby).
I need to make it out to the local fabric store and pick up some boy fabric to make a quilt. I’ve made two baby quilts in the past, but both for girls. I’m excited to be making a boy quilt and of course have to make one for my baby. I’ll certainly post progress pics of it when I get started. If anyone knows of a fun baby quilt pattern, feel free to pass it my way.

You’re sooooo talented, Jan! Is there anything you CAN’T do??? I love the purple/green quilt. You’ll have so much fun picking out fabric for your son. I can’t wait to see what you’ve chosen. I’d LOVE to learn to sew …. then to quilt. I envy you that you can do both.
Take good care and keep posting pics!

Oh, you’ll laugh. I’ve never really been taught to sew and had to read the manual of the sewing machine to figure out how to thread the stupid thing.
I had a friend walk me along with making my first quilt (the purple one). I loved it so much that when my sister was pregnant, I couldn’t wait to make her one. I just ordered a pattern for my son’s quilt and hope to take time in another couple of weeks to head to the fabric store and then get started.

Congratulations on reaching the halfway mark. They say that the bigger the baby (up to a point I guess) the easier it is to deliver what with gravity and all.

Now that’s funny!
