Still Trying To Lose Weight

I haven’t given up, I promise.  I just haven’t been stepping on the scale to be able to post any changes.

My husband and I started working out together on September 29th.  We’ve never worked out together before (always separate or sometimes not at all).  We’re both really enjoying it (except for the getting up early part).  It helps to work out with a partner (pushes you to go farther).  We’re in the middle of week three this week.  Next week is a recovery week, but we will still be working out every day doing some cardio and a ton of stretch training.

We are doing the Beachbody P90X program.  It’s a 90 day program and I’m sure you’ve seen the infomercial on the TV before.  I’ve talked with several people who have done this workout and have gotten incredible results.  I’m not expecting to look “ripped” at the end of 90 days, since I have about 30 pounds I want to lose, but I do expect to be smaller and start showing some definition in some areas.  My husband on the other hand has about 5-10 pounds to lose (or so he says), but to me he’s in great shape already.  I have no doubt that he’ll be “ripped” or darn close to it at the end of 90 days.  I can already see a change in him.  Can you say “lucky me”.  Now I just need to give him a wife that matches his physique.

I will eventually post before and after photos, but they won’t be coming until I can see a noticeable improvement and am more proud of the body I’ve created.  More to come.  In the meantime, check out P90X.  It’s amazing!!!

Ultimate Turkey Burger

Also over the weekend, I made the Ultimate Turkey Burgers.  I was a little skeptical on these, but they were outstanding.  The flavor was to die for.  Juicy burger with a ton of flavor.  These will definitely be added to our “make often” list.  We just finished them up today for lunch.  YUM!

Whole-Wheat Pancakes

I’m a little late on posting, but over the weekend I made some Whole-Wheat Pancakes.  We both loved them and they were filling.  I did add cinnamon to them (which was not part of the recipe).  The picture shows half of what it actually made.  It came out to more than 8 pancakes total made (due to me making mine a little smaller than they needed to be).  We will be having these again.  Very good!

No-Cook Chicken Burrito

My husband worked from home today, so I made something a little different for lunch.  We both loved these No-Cook Chicken Burrito.  They were very filling and tasted great, not to mention so easy to make.  As you can see, we both prefer to eat our burritos differently (he folds in half and I roll mine up).  He opted for no beans or sour cream, I opted for no chicken (not a huge meat fan), and we both added cilantro.  We will definitely be making these again.

Meatloaf

Tonight for dinner we had Meatloaf and it was amazing! I’m loving that “clean” foods are flavorful! It’s very rare that we find a “clean” meal that we don’t like. The meatloaf was so fast to put together, but then you have to wait an hour before it’s time to eat it, so you need to plan ahead. We will definitely have this again. Very good!
